Weihua's 400-ton crane is China's largest-capacity dedicated quenching crane, marking a major step forward in Weihua's integrated solutions for ultra-large-capacity metallurgical lifting equipment.. Delivered in October 2026, the 400-ton and 150-ton bridge cranes will work together to handle heavy workpieces throughout the quenching process.

The 400-ton crane represents a major step forward in Weihua's integrated solutions for ultra-large-capacity metallurgical lifting equipment. The coordinated two-crane system combines synchronized dual-hook operation, advanced PLC control, and specialized high-temperature protection to support precise and reliable workpiece handling under demanding operating conditions.

Key Features


High-Temperature Protection for Continuous Operation

To withstand prolonged exposure to radiant heat in the furnace area, both cranes are equipped with dedicated high-temperature-resistant cables. A temperature-controlled electrical room integrated into the main girder and a double-layer insulated operator cabin help limit heat transfer to critical electrical and control components.

This multi-layer thermal protection design helps reduce the risk of cable aging, signal instability, and other heat-related faults, supporting reliable operation during extended working cycles.

Synchronized Dual-Hook Operation with Advanced PLC Control


Quenching processes require precise timing when immersing workpieces in the quenching medium. The two cranes feature synchronized operation and dual-hook coordination, supported by a next-generation centralized PLC control system.

The main hoisting mechanism uses stator-voltage control for speed regulation, enabling coordinated acceleration and deceleration of the main and auxiliary hooks under varying load conditions. This helps the cranes handle frequent starts and stops, as well as high-speed lifting and lowering under changing loads, while balancing lifting efficiency with smooth, precise movement.

Precise Load Handling for Quenching Applications


By coordinating hook movement and hoisting speeds, the system helps reduce workpiece sway and impact during lifting and transfer. This supports more controlled handling throughout the quenching process and helps minimize the risk of workpiece damage and uneven quenching caused by improper handling.
